- Course Description
Asian Studies is an introductory course designed
to prepare students for issues concerning cultural diversity, which guides the students to take a look at the
world from a perspective other than their own. The courses are based on a
diverse range of themes including culture, societies to social networks, social
institution–the family, and the themes focusing on Asian countries.
A multicultural and interdisciplinary approach is taken to the study of this
course. This course will begin with the general concept of culture; the introduction
to Asia; five major realms in
Asia; and history, people and culture of Asia. Finally, students will have the
chance to present some countries in Asia, especially all countries in Southeast Asia.
